Mr. Shubham Mansinghe To inculcate research culture among students & encourage original & novel thinking SPPU is organizing this inter-university research competition since 2006. This year one of our students from the final year Mr. Shubham Mansinghe got the opportunity to present his research paper at AAVISHKAR 2019 for district-level competition. The title of his research project was “Adaptive use of leftover spaces below flyovers in Pune.” Due to rapid urbanization & lack of a holistic approach in city planning creates underused spaces that cannot be utilized. These unused, underused & dead pockets in the urban fabric are called “Urban Voids” his research involved adaptive uses of these leftover spaces below flyovers. His case studies involved the study of 4 different flyovers from Pune. Such as Agriculture college, COEP, E-Square & Swargate flyovers. He studies all these spaces for Parking, Landscape, unused spaces & garbage disposal.
 
NATIONAL WORKSHOP OF RESEARCH PAPER WRITING Our Fourth-year students participated in a Two days National Workshop of Research Paper writing Competition for students at UG and PG level in the month of Feb 2020. This Workshop was organized by D. Y. Patil School of Architecture, Lohegaon in association with Maharashtra Association of School of Architecture [MASA]. The aim of the workshop was to get interaction from various institutes and Architecture students doing research papers. Our four students were shortlisted from 180 entries and got the opportunity to present their paper in front of expert juries which will be published in their research magazine having ISBN number. Students got exposure and increased their confidence after getting reviews on their presentations from jury members.
